Art supplies were purchased with donations from Tri Kappa Sorority
These are some of the items that filled the 6 bags that went with me to Kenya.
Orphans were given juice for breakfast one morning.
Other items I brought over with me.
Class 6; children also got to choose a piece of jewelry.
There are 50 students in Class 1 so they get the largest classroom - the training center.
Clothing was given to Class 9
Clothing given to Class 8; all students got a candy treat.
Clothing given to Class 7; some students chose flip-flops.
Class 1 lined up for clothing but there was none left. Sad day for us all.

Class 2; ran out of clothing so some got a school bag instead.
Plants were being carried across the bridge to the school. Rain was moving in.
All classroom floors had to be replaced with new concrete.
We brought in 4 loads of gravel to help solve the problem of a muddy playground during the rainy season.

Donated posters were hung in classrooms.
They were still happy to get the candy and a piece of jewelry.
These are the 7 orphans in Class 9. They got special gifts.

Thanks to Delphi who donated 2 laptops to our school.
A friend, Donna, donated a parachute for the children to play with.
My favorite - sukuma weeki - but I had to eat the ugali too.
Peanut butter is a good source of protein for the children since meat is out of our budget range.
Corn and beans are the usual lunch at school.
Tri Kappa also donated several checker and chess games.
These t-shirts were donated by Washington Elementary School.
I attended a parents meeting.
New sweaters were bought to replace really ragged old ones.
After another look, we found more tattered sweaters that needed replaced.
