Agnes Wanjiku


 


Alice Wambui (15) lost her parents in an auto accident.  She is in Form 2 at Bright Star.

Amida Rashid (13) is in Form 2.  Her father died and her mother was unable to care for her.  She attends another school on a government scholarship but Bright Star is still her home.

Albert Omache Misati
is in Form 2 (Sophomore) and is 16 years old.  Albert lived with a stranger in Kayole where Pastor John found him.

Ann Juma
is in Form 3 (Junior) and is 17 years old.  She was raised by a single mother who died three years ago.  She has been living with a relative who was unable to educate her and wanted to work instead as a house girl (maid).  Ann enjoys church activities.

Ann Kemuntho is in Class 6 and is 13 years old.  Her parents were killed in the election violence in '07.  She decided she would live on the streets but was brought to Bright Star instead.

Beatrice Ambia


Benard Musyoka (17) is in Form 4.  He has lost both parents and was roaming the slums with his grandmother.  He has no siblings.  He'd like to go to a computer college and then become a lawyer.  He likes to play soccer, watch movies, and read.  His favorite subjects are History and Business.  He was brought to Bright Star by a pastor who wanted to help him.

Benjamin Martin Nungu is 20 and is in Form 4.  He lost both parents when he was very young and he has 2 sisters, 11 and 14,  who live with their grandmother.  He came to Pastor John's church and then started going to school at Bright Star.  He wants to be a businessman specializing in computers.  He likes computers, volleyball, and running and hopes to make the Olympic team.

Brenda Achieng is in Form 1 and is 15 years old.  After her parents died, she lived with a stranger in western Kenya.  She's very bright in class.
