How much is needed each month?
 

We pay these expenses monthly:

• maize (corn) $570

• porridge, bananas, oranges, bread, butter/peanut butter, milk, cheese  $400

• meat once a week for our 61 orphans  $90

• sanitary napkins  $45

• toilet paper  $48

• utilities (water and electricity) $32

• newspaper $10

• orphan sponsorship $467

• teacher sponsorship $357

• salaries (Pastor John, the cook, the gate keeper, and the night watchman) $333

• teachers' morning tea $24
  Total - $2376

Sometimes we have additional expenses, such as:

• medical, dental, and vision care

• textbooks and teaching materials

• financial aid for former students

• government fees

• repairs and improvements of buildings

• extra security

• firewood

• rodent and roach killer

• cooking fat and salt

If you'd like to donate to Bright Star School, you should know that 100% of your donation
is used to educate, feed, shelter, clothe, and provide the basic needs such as medical care, school supplies, and some recreational activities for the children.  No money is used for administrative costs.
