Margaret Nyambura

"When my mum gave birth to me, she used
to stay in the rural area with my grandmother. She used to
sell kale but one day she died and I was left with my grandmother.
She was unable to do any work so I used to work at home (to take
care of her). Studying in primary school was very difficult.
My grandmother had a
friend who worked in Nairobi. Then one day he decided to come
and visit my grandmother. Then he saw how I suffered. He
told my grandmother that he will take me to Nairobi and pay for me
the fees of secondary school. He paid my fees up to Form two
second term. Then his wife turned against me and I really
suffered until the time that I made a covenant and saw that God had
a plan for me.
Then one day the man
who used to pay my school fees left and I was chased for school
fees. I found that I was left alone and I suffered for a whole
term without learning. I started being a street girl.
But one day God answered my prayer. When I was on the way I
heard a crusade somewhere. I tried and reached to where it
was. I asked a person and I was told to talk with the pastor,
Pastor John was the one who was preaching. He said that he is
the director of Bright Star School and I was told to talk with him
about my problem.
After the crusade I
was told to go with him and he told me that I will join Bright Star.
He came with me to Bright Star School and told me to feel at home.
I became a student of Bright Star Secondary School and I thank God
for all that He has done for me. I joined Form two third term
up to now."
Margaret now lives in
our girls' dormitory.

Donations from friends were
used to buy shoes, school uniform, bedding, and basic
necessities for Margaret and Christine. They are precious children who
would be lost without God's mercy and the generosity of family
and friends. |

Christine
Mulinge's Story
Christine has been at Bright Star for the last
year and is in Form 3 (11th grade). Christine lost both her
parents by the time she was 10 years old, but she was taken in by a
"well wisher", as Pastor John explains. On Sunday,
Pastor found her crying and asked her why she was crying. She
told him that she needed his prayers because the family she had been
staying with was no longer able to pay her secondary school fees nor
feed her. The man had lost his job and the family was going
back to the village upcountry. She was scared that she may not
be able to continue with her education. Pastor invited her to
live in the dorm and she eagerly accepted the invitation!
Christine has now graduated from
Bright Star! Would you like to
