New Boarders
Oct. 2008

Pastor John writes:  "...their (the new orphans') stories are so bad.  Three cases lost their parents during the political unrest we had.  Their parents were killed early this year.  I knew of it...but wanted to be sure that none of the remaining relatives were willing to help.  Another case is of her single mother who passed away in May when giving birth.  We buried her."

Christine's Story

Christine has been at Bright Star for the last year and is in Form 3 (11th grade).  Christine lost both her parents by the time she was 10 years old, but she was taken in by a "well wisher", as Pastor John explains.    On Sunday, Pastor found her crying and asked her why she was crying.  She told him that she needed his prayers because the family she had been staying with was no longer able to pay her secondary school fees nor feed her.  The man had lost his job and the family was going back to the village upcountry.  She was scared that she may not be able to continue with her education.  Pastor invited her to live in the dorm and she eagerly accepted the invitation!  Now she needs a sponsor.  Can you help?
